He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Grinstead and Mary Alice Grinstead (Wallace); his sister Connie Wadley; his sister-in-law Patty Grinstead; and his grandson Zachary Grinstead.

He is survived by: his wife Pat Grinstead of Greenfield; his sons, Greg Grinstead (Marta) of Pendleton, Gary Grinstead (Julie) of Lima, OH and Gerald Grinstead (Sonja) of Greenfield; his stepsons, Chris Johnson (Amy) of New Palestine and Brad Johnson; his grandchildren, Justin Grinstead (Ann), Ryan "Gator" Grinstead (Summer), Alyse Wilson (Jake), Jovi Crawford, Josiah Grinstead, Nick Grinstead (Blake), Courtney Johnson, Isaac Johnson, Lexx Johnson and Abi Johnson; his siblings, Jace Grinstead, Darlene Miller (Moe) and Jo Ellen Ward (Kim); and his brother-in-law Berry Wadley. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
