He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Belcher and Virginia Lee Belcher (Neville); his wife Pansy Burns (Dick); his brothers, Eugene and Terry Burns; his grandson Brent Burns; and his nephew Tim Burns.

He is survived by: his children, Becky Marvin (Rick), Edward "Duke" Burns (Nena Bragg) and Linda McPherson; his cousin Merle Bowman (Marsha); his sister Barbara Briening; and the mother of his children Barbara Burns. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

“My Condolences for the loss of Ed Burns!! Ge was a great mechanic and good friend of my dads. He always had a good word when I met up with him after not seeing him for awhile! He was my neighbor when i was growing up as a child and im sure he wasnt fond of me then as i was disrespectful but we became friends aa becoming a mechanic myself, he was very wise in the field and in life and his good spirit will be missed!!”
