He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Smith and Ruthann Smith; his grandparents, Earl, Elizabeth Smith, George and Martha Smith; and his daughter Naomi Ann Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Smith (Geisking); his sons, Christopher Russell Smith of Christmas and Michael Smith (Alexis) of Greenfield; his grandchildren, Tyler, Tayton, Trevor, Tucker, Rebecca Smith and Eleanea; and his siblings, Joseph Smith of Greenfield and Maribeth Doughty of North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "Naomi Ann Smith, Teaching with Love Scholarship" fund, 312 E. Main St., Greenfield, IN 46140 through the Hancock County Community Foundation or to Suburban Hospice, 801 N State Street, Greenfield, IN 46140.
