He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Dowell and Elizabeth Dowell; his wife Carol Marlene Jeffries; and his son Jim (Jim). He is survived by: his daughter Donna Eckler (George); his sister Peggy Walker; and his grandchildren, Rachel Conner (Anson), Ben Eckler (Annie) and Gabe Eckler. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends and loved ones make donations to their favorite charity in memory of Don.
