He was predeceased by: his parents, Col. Donald E. Mitchell and Helene A. Mitchell; and his son Jeff Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Mitchell (Lakin); his children, Linda Gould (Sam) of Bemidji, Amy Kurz (Vic) of New Berlin, Greg Mitchell (Michelle) of Enterprise and Lisa Smith (James) of Greenfield; and his brother Roger Mitchell (Barbara) of North Stonington, Connecticut.. He is also survived by 2 nieces, 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
