Alicia Dawn Dillon Obituary

Alicia "Lexie" Dawn Dillon, 51 of Greenfield, left this earthly world unexpectedly on Saturday, September 24, 2022. She was born in Indianapolis on March 16, 1971, to her mother Roberta S. (Burk) Elmore.

Raised on the west side of Indianapolis, Alicia and her sisters found solace in their beloved grandparent's home where they were consistently surrounded by aunts and uncles. Finding joy in music, the family regularly harmonized in song, piled in grandpa's car for impromptu trips to the airport to watch the planes, and take the yearly vacation to Indiana Beach. As a child, Alicia attended Rhoades Elementary School, later Ben Davis until her senior year, before proudly graduating from Plainfield High School with the class of 1989. While in school, she was a dedicated member of the Drama Club, earning the coveted role as the wicked witch of the west in the Wizard of Oz production. After graduation, she worked a few jobs until landing her forever position as a talented Training Specialist for GBC Bank in Greenfield.

In 2013 Alicia found the person that would complete her life story when she fostered a teenage girl named Morgan. On August 2 the new mother daughter duo sealed the deal with adoption papers, wearing matching t-shirts to celebrate the new relationship.

The epitome of the crazy cat lady, Alicia volunteered tirelessly for the Biscuit Factory Animal Rescue, Inc in Greenfield, aiding in saving as many felines as she possibly could. Sometimes tenacious and with a wicked sense of humor, she was instilled with wisdom beyond her years along with the innate ability to ground and calm those around her. Always in tune with others needs and empathetic to a fault, she continuously placed others needs before her own. Her favorite TV show was Friends (which she knew every line of every episode) and she adored polka dots to no end. Above all, Alicia put her complete and utter faith in God, knowing in her heart of hearts. He would always take care of her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Alicia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Louis and Delores (Hofmeister) Studer, and Aunt Patricia Spencer.

She leaves behind her mother and step father, Roberta Sue and Leslie Elmore of Indianapolis; daughter, Morgan Hinshaw of Indianapolis; grandson, Lincoln Zae Whirley; siblings, Tammy Curtis (George) of Indianapolis, Sherry Brewer (Steve) of Avon, Candy Bowman (Brian) of Thorntown, Lela Neely (Roy) of Oklahoma, Tim Elmore (Cathy) of Indianapolis, and Howard Elmore (Penny) of Tennessee; twelve aunts and uncles, along with their spouses, too many cousins, nieces and nephews to mention, adored fur babies, Boyfriend and Noble, as well as a host of wonderful friends she held near and dear in her heart.
