He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Edward Birt and Mae Tecumseh Surber Birt; his wife Hope Ericksen; his sons, Eric Birt (Judi) of Greencastle and Aaron Birt (Julie) of Carmel; his grandchildren, Michelle Kruse (Alex) of Lebanon, Jennifer Sisk (Brent) of San Diego, Andrew Birt of Greencastle, Grayson Birt of Carmel and Samantha Birt of Carmel; and his great grandchildren, Piper Birt of Greencastle and Addison Kruse of Lebanon. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
