He is survived by: his children, Howard Bowen (Sondra), Dawneen Hardwick (David) and Lisa Leonard (Brannon); his brother Jim Bowen (Sandy); his brother-in-law Byron Bloom; his grandchildren, Christopher Bowen (Sara), Seth Bowen (Nikki), Grace Poynter (Noah), Alisha Shumate (Austin), Isaiah and Jazmyne Hardwick; and his great grandchildren, Pearl, Oliver, Evie, Abel Bowen, Ayden, Kinsley, Tyler, Mason Bowen, Willow, Whitley and Waverlee Shumate.
