He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Leroy and Delores May Sparks (Acton); his brothers, Edsel, Alan, Leon, Wayne and Mark Sparks; and his grandson Bryson David Gunther Sparks.

He is survived by: his wife Dennise Sparks (Russell); his sons, Aaron Wayne Sparks (Tabby) and Eric Anthony Sparks (Stacy); his brother Karl Sparks (Bonnie); his grandchildren, Christopher James, Aaron Michael, Daniel Ray, Bryar Arabella, Shawn Dale and Aaron Daniel; and his great grandchild Gracelynn.
