He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Cox and Ruth Cox (Maxwell); his wife Vera; his son Charles Jr.; and his sisters, Darlene Burrell and Jacqueline Hall.
He is survived by: his son Douglas Cox (Carol) of Greencastle; his granddaughters, Amanda Lucas (Jason) of Danville and Rachel Trbovic (Phil) of Indianapolis; his stepgrandsons, Aaron Jones (Sara Miller) of Plainfield and Pete Jones (Rachel); and his close friend Juanetta Fidler of Cloverdale. He is also survived by five step-grandchildren.
