With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William Edward Smith of Granger, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 13, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph B. Smith and Mary Lillian Timbrook; and his siblings, Mary Bernard Kaelin (A. J.), Joseph B. Smith, Margaret Thompson (J. A.) and James A. Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Smith of Granger, IN; his children, Gregg Smith (Linda) of Crown Point, IN., Lisa Ketcham (Greg) of South Bend, IN., Brian Smith (Shelly) of Fishers, IN., Galyn Young (Jason) of Granger, IN and Lacey Dobrolecki (Jason) of Indianapolis, IN; his grandchildren, Kevin Smith, Rachel Smith, Allison Rykse (Alex), Kelsey Ketcham, Zhane Smith, Mason Smith, Gage Smith, Bode Smith, Milah Young, Garon Young, Nolan Young, Kalli Dobrolecki, Malina Dobrolecki, Iliza Dobrolecki and Ashley Huber (Joshua); his siblings, Rose Catherine McCarter of Owensboro, KY. and John Paul Smith (Beverly) of Owensboro, KY.; and his sister-in-law Juanita Smith.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Calendar St. Pius X Catholic Church (52553 N Fir Rd, Granger, IN 46530). A Mass will be held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
