He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Nix Sr. and Clara Nix (Gasser); his daughter Phyllis Nix DeWeese; and his siblings, Mary Withers, Clayton and Jack Nix.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Weatherholt Nix; his daughters, Donna Driskell (Kim) and Alana Swanker (Jim); his sisters, Ella Crume, Wanneta Payton and Marsha Windisch; and his grandchildren, Lori Page, Erika Driskell, Amee Hadley, William "Drew" Driskell, Leah Powers, Dustin Sarver and Jennifer Clutter. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren with one on the way and many nieces and nephews.
