He was predeceased by: his parents, O. W. "Pete" Maxfield and Helen Maxfield. He is survived by: his wife Judy Maxfield; his children, Joe Maxfield, Jason Maxfield (Kara) and Sally Eicher (Dillian); his grandchildren, Brayden, Faith, Barrett, Briann, Sullivan and Jack; and his sisters, Jyl Norr (Ken), Julie Gearhart (Tom) and Jayne Heller (Michael).

Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of NE Indiana.

“Jim was a good friend from the past. I found out that he fought the good fight till the day he finally went home to see his mom and dad.
