He was predeceased by: his parents, William Herring and Annie Mae Herring (Webb); his brothers, Hugh, Gerald, Paul, Doyle and Lloyd Herring; and his grandson Parker Hudson.
He is survived by: his pets, Belle and Jack; his wife Doris Herring of Gosport, IN; his children, Diane Newton (Jimmy) of Connersville, IN, Becci Mellin (Robert) of Cary, NC, Lee Lincoln of Spencer, IN, Melanie Marshall of Asheville, NC and Alan Herring of Madison, IN; and his siblings, Wilbur Herring of Water Valley, MS and Joy Herring of Arkansas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
