He was predeceased by: his wife Frances L. Mitchell (Lane); his children, Larry T. Smith and Sharon Myers; and his sisters, Martha Lane, Shirley Desrosiers and Sandy Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Randy Mitchell (Sharon) of Gosport, Gerald William "Bill" Mitchell (Deborah Jean) of Indianapolis and Cindy Evans (Bill) of Gosport; and his brother Richard "Dick" Mitchell of Bloomington. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
