He is survived by: his wife Virginia Stwalley; his daughter Kelly Cooper (Gary); his grandsons, Matthew Cooper, William "Griffin" Cooper and Alexander Cooper; and his brothers, John Heckman (Deanna), David Heckman and Jim Heckman (Jane).

Memorial contributions may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of Charles.
