It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ward Lavern Smeltzer of Goshen, Indiana, born in Wakarusa, Indiana, who passed away on January 19, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Smeltzer and Marie O. Smeltzer (Leatherman); and his siblings, Ivan, Vance, Keith Smeltzer, Opal Popke, Vera Miller and Rita Artley.

He is survived by: his wife R. "Jean" Smeltzer (Myers); his daughter Dianna Koelndorfer (Robert J.); his grandchildren, Christopher Koelndorfer and Virginia Beach; his stepgrandsons, Andrew Koelndorfer (Brittiney) and Michael Koelndorfer (Liz); his great grandchild Riley Koelndorfer; and his sister Echo Ignafol.

Memorial donations may be directed to Prairieview Missionary Church.
