It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Ray Schmucker of Goshen, Indiana, who passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi D. Schmucker and Susie Schmucker (Hershberger); his wife Edna Ellen Slabach; his son Steven Ray Schmucker; and his brothers, LeRoy, Freeman, Ivan, Lloyd and Levi Lee Schmucker.
He is survived by: his children, Marion Schmucker (Emma) of Goshen, Robert Schmucker (Wanda) of Goshen, Maurice Schmucker (Norma) of Goshen, Sharon Lambright (Glen) of Goshen, Lydia Ann Hershberger of Millersburg and Pauline Stutzman (David) of New Paris; his siblings, Rudy Schmucker (Mary) of West Union, OH and Ida Mae Schmucker of LaGrange; and his sisters-in-law, Ida Schmucker of LaGrange and Viola Schmucker of Goshen. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 151 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Family Residence (62492 Co Rd 35, Goshen, IN 46528). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at the Clinton Union Cemetery (14309 College Ave, Goshen, IN 46528).
