He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Bechtel and Betty Bechtel (Whirledge); his wife Jeannette Sprunger; his brother Edward Bechtel; and his grandson Nicholas Simms.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Bontrager (Harley) of Goshen and Scott (Kimberle) of Celebration, Florida; his grandchildren, Breanna Bechtel, Dalton Bechtel, Sabrina Simms, Natasha Overmyer (Ken) and Jarin Bontrager; his great grandchildren, Ellelana and Emmaleigh Overmyer; his sister Jane Troup (David); and his sister-in-law Linda Bechtel. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made to Camp Friedenswald or The American Parkinson Disease Association.
