He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Ellis and Pauline Ellis (Mummert); and his sister Connie Miller Eash. He is survived by: his wife Donna Ellis (Lower); his children, McKayla Rose (Tim), Michael Ellis (Debbie), Tresa Hulsey (Rich Prindle) and Todd Barnell (Gretchen Hornberger); and his caregivers, Serena Tobias and Missy Hochstetler. He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren 14 Great Grandchildren 4 Great Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials be made in Steve's name to The Elkhart County Humane Society or Black Pine Animal Sanctuary.
