She is survived by: her children, Verne Edward Leininger (Kathleen Martin), John Henry Leininger (Alice Peters) and Barbara Leininger Dickason (Robert); her grandchildren, Sarah Katz (Matt), Caleb Leininger (Amanda Basham), Micah, Leah, Dylan Leininger, Sean Dickason (Joselyn Haldeman) and Morgan Dickason (David Besel); her great grandchildren, Amelia, Everett, Rhys Dickason and Violet Aria Besel; and her siblings, Carol Shirey (Dennis) of Ohio, Sharon Tolla of Ohio, Fred Mahan (Nancy) of Ohio, Karen Beran (Joe) of Ohio and Betty Koehler (Jim) of Ohio.
With many Greencroft activities shut down because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Phyllis used the year 2020 when she was basically shut in to write her book of over 500 pages called, TOGETHER: Memoirs of a Pastor's Wife, that was published on Amazon in January 2021.
