He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter P. Preheim and Edith Preheim; and his siblings, Waldo, Delbert, Roland, Don, Verna and Emma.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Doerksen; his sons, Scott Preheim (Judy) of Middlebury and David (Stephen Sostaric) of Mishawaka; and his siblings, Barbara Carlson of Wichita, Ann Regier of Grant, Nebraska and Peter Preheim of Marion. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
