He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold D. Platt and Margaret M. Platt (Lilly); his brother James L. Platt; his daughter Karen Lynn Platt Eichhorn; and his spouse Gracielee A. Matz (James).
He is survived by: his children, Kirk D. Platt of Goshen, Dan L. Matz (Wendy) of Elkhart, Jeff B. Matz (Tammy) of Niceville, FL, Patti J. Pittman (David) of Bristol and LuAnne M. Van Kirk (Patrick) of Cassopolis, MI; and his grandchildren, Harold W. Eichhorn (Jessica) and Kyle A. Platt (Erin). He is also survived by fourteen step grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
