He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Bender and Clara Bender (Miller); and his siblings, Dayle Ann Bender, Romayne, Robert and Gene Bender.
He is survived by: his siblings, Les Bender (Judy) of Albion, Gwen Stump (Mike) of Elkhart, Rose Kienzler (Steven) of LaOtto and Bonnie Harlan (Tom) of Ocala, Florida; and his sister-in-law Clara Bender of Topeka. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in his name may be given to Wounded Warrior Project.
