He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Marion B. McDowell; his wife Bonnie L. Werling; and his children, Eric McDowell of Indianapolis, Anthony "Tony" McDowell (Kathy) of Milford, Paul McDowell (Darcy) of Stillwater and Lori Edwards of Taos. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be given to Faith Lutheran Church.
