He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter, Sr. West and Mary West (O'brien); his son Brian Matthew West; his siblings, Roberta Martin and Bernie West; and his great grandchild Ciara West.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Bevers West; his children, Mark West (Kim), Marie Robertson (Chris), Karen Salisbury (Craig), Michael Bevers (Lana), Mark Bevers, Matthew Bevers (Cylee) and Myron Bevers (Connie); and his siblings, Christina Stroud (Junior), Evelyn Hollrah (Dallas), Paula Dirck, Rosetta Parker (Darryl) and James West (Alice). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.

The family requests that contributions in Walter 's memory in lieu of flowers be made to St. Mary's Breaking Bread Food Pantry.
