He was predeceased by: his wife Fern McClain; his parents, Roy McClain Sr. and Edna Brown Jewell McClain; his brother Raymond McClain; and his daughter Pamela Messer.
He is survived by: his siblings, Truman McClain (Pauline), Doris Sweasy (Linwood) and Donna Kaye Bohannon (Wendell); and his daughters, Deborah Larrick and Lisa Dawson (Ryan). He is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
