It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen (Gilbert) Bailey of Georgetown, Indiana, born in Hyden, Kentucky, who passed away on October 24, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Gilbert and Martha Gilbert (Day); her husband John Henry Bailey; and her siblings, Odis Gilbert and Zelda Mae Lewis (Gilbert).
She is survived by: her daughters, Pamela Popp (David, Sr.) and Regina Calhoun (Dwayne); her grandchildren, David Popp, Jr. (Sarah), Johnathan Popp (Anna), Alex Lausterer (Erin), Lillian Calhoun and Lauren Hernandez; her great grandchild Aida Lausterer; and her brother Willie Ray Gilbert (Geraldine). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
The family requests that contributions in Helen's memory be made to the New Albany-Floyd County Animal Shelter or the Louisville Weimaraner Rescue.
