He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Grieb and Magdalene Wallentin Grieb; his brother Erhard Grieb; and his sister-in-law Clara Kopp Grieb. He is survived by: his close friend Dandy; his wife Patricia Charlene Blair Grieb; his son Larry Dale Grieb; his daughter-in-law Pamela Pierson Grieb of Sellersburg, Indiana; his grandson Cameron Scott Grieb of New Albany, Indiana; his brother Werner Grieb; and his sister-in-law Madeline Grieb of Louisville, Kentucky. He is also survived by eight nieces; two nephews and many surviving cousins.
