He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson F. Wheeler and Ruby Rachel Wheeler (McCreery); and his siblings, James Orton Wheeler and Rachel Willis. He is survived by: his sister Mary Margaret Burris (William) of Edwardsville, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
