He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert E. Eckstein and Janice R. Eckstein (VanderWel). He is survived by: his wife Anita Isenhour; his children, Brandon James Eckstein (Jessica) of Marion, Chad Smith (Kelly) of Marion and Jacquelyn Brown (Michael) of Cookville, TN; his grandchildren, Melaina Smith, Gwen Deason, Rose Deason, Kannen Smith, Mason Deason and Teller James Eckstein; his brothers, Bruce Eckstein (Janice) of Gas City, Steve Eckstein (Jamie) of Gas City and Dan Eckstein (Kristi) of Hartford City; and his stepmother Janet Eckstein of Gas City.
