With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha E. Rice (Gas City, Indiana), who passed away on April 25, 2023 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Cecil Hanford; her husband Edward Albert Rice; her sons, Timothy and Michael; her daughter-in-law Belle Rice; and her siblings, Maxine Harvey, Chester Pulley and Lloyd Pulley.

She is survived by: her children, Edward, Jr. of Muncie, James (Linda) of Hilton Head, Carol Copeland (John) of Marion, Patti Boland (Murray) of Fishers and Brenda Rice of Fishers; and her daughters-in-law, Ginny Rice of Upland and Melissa Rice of Fort Wayne. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Marion-Grant County Humane Society.

“Mother enjoyed going back to Indiana every year and staying with Aunt Martha. Then Uncle Lloyd, Uncle Chester and Aunt Kate would come back with them to Texas and stay awhile. Whenever we went to Indiana we always had a place to stay. We are going to miss her. I would call her to find out what was going on and how the family was doing. So many good memories of her and rest of family. Say hi to Mother and Daddy and rest of family. Sorry for your loss Love, Shirley and John Barney”
