It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Russell Sherman Sr. (Gas City, Indiana), who passed away on November 29, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Sherman and Henderson; his wife Loretta Fleming; his siblings, Virginia Mae Sherman, Mary Doris Sherman, Betty Lou Sherman, Irene Mayo, Janet Blackburn, Ruth Ann Detamore-Reynolds and Richard Sherman; his granddaughter Kristen Janero; and his great grandchild Xander Janero.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Wolf (Kent Raby), Joanna Hendricks (Jason), Marion, David R. "Rusty" Sherman, Jr. (Jonell), Douglas Sherman (Tina), Rose Cadena (Lupe), Van Buren and Angela Brown (Rodney); his brothers, Orville Sherman, Robert Sherman and Marion; and his close friend Loretta Dollar of Muncie. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel (400 E Main St, Gas City, IN 46933). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
