He was predeceased by: his parents, John Simpkins and Beulah Simpkins (Troxell); his sister Nina Mitchener; his grandson Travis Simpkins; and his pet Ernie.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Simpkins of Gas City; his sons, Mitchell Simpkins (Inge) of Kansas City, MO, Michael Simpkins (Judy) of Gas City, Martin "Buck" Simpkins (Deana) of Marion and Mick Simpkins (Ellen) of Marion; his grandchildren, Chip Vega, Ryan Simpkins (Danielle), Marc Simpkins (Amanda Osborn), Jake Simpkins (Maddie Williams), Lucas Simpkins, Darin Moon (Jenna), Mickey Huntington (Austin) and Lindy Simpkins; his great grandchildren, Lexi, Andi, Rori, Joli, Jaxon and Jesse; his siblings, John Simpkins (Susie) of Gas City, Kevin Simpkins (Kelli) of Carmel and Joan Lightle (late Bill); and his pet Mollie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
