He is survived by: his wife Valerie Tibbs; his children, Alexandria and John Robert; his siblings, Bernard Patterson (Geneva), Gary Patterson (Pshion), Doreen Patterson of Wisconsin and Debra Washington (Robert) of Chicago; and his mother-in-law Jean E. Tibbs. He is also survived by nieces, nephews friends and relatives.
