She was predeceased by: her mother Marcella Cruz; her stepfather Antonio Delgado; her brothers, Martin Cruz, Robert Maldonado and Benjamin Maldonado; and her nephew Derrick Allen Brown Jr..

She is survived by: her significant other Lawrence "Moochie" Turner of Gary; and her sisters, Cruzita Rivera (Carlos), Lydia Matthews (Brad), Ramona Garcia (Carlos), Irma Tate (John), Minerva Gonzalez (Lino) and JoAnn Brown-Pope.

She also volunteered and assisted with raising donations for fundraising events.
