She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Brassell and Amelia Dukes; her husband Billy Ray Freeman, Sr.; her son Derrick Bryant Freeman; and her siblings, Riley Brassell, Hattie Mae Brooks, Maureen Cohran, Gene A. Brassell and Mevelean Warren.
She is survived by: her children, Rudley Leland of Merrillville, Arlean Leland Esquire of Washington, D. C., Billy Ray Freeman, Jr. (Cecilia) of Gary and Kim Freeman Wade (George) of Charlotte; her sisters, Lorene Mitchell of Gary, Indiana and Pat N. Brassell of Oxford, Mississippi; her grandchildren, Rudley Leland, Jr., Imani Anderson, Keenan R. Leland, Chanel Giden, Kia M. Freeman, Dericq M. Freeman, Travis R. Theus and Whitney A. Wade; and her great grandchildren, Imani Jr., Kylie, Brennyn, Rashad, Kristin, Niah, Ryan, Skye and Noah. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, and friends.
