He was predeceased by: his wife Carmen Rivas; his parents, Pascuala Rivas and Cornelio Rivas; his siblings, Jesus Rivas, Rosa Garcia, Grace Perez, Antonia Vega, Juanita Garza and Maria Lopez; and his mother-in-law Anita Cerda.
He is survived by: his children, Anna Rivas-Beda (Steve), Louis Rivas (Elba) and Laura Rivas; his granddaughters, Erin Rivas Garza (Mario) and Shannon Rivas; his great grandchildren, Ryan, Julia, Deserae, Mariana, Zachary, Marina and Dominic; his great great grandchild Preston; his sister Tillie Rodriguez; his godson Rodolfo Ramirez (Maria Elena); and his pet Lucky. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
