He was predeceased by: his mother Virginia Dickinson; and his brother Chester Dickinson Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Calvin Dickinson of California, Kristyn Dickinson of Indianapolis and Jeremy Dickinson of Gary; his father Chester Dickinson (Dorothy) of Gary; and his siblings, Katherine Torres of Gary, Melvin Dickinson (Roena) of Gary and Robert Dickinson of Gary. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
