He was predeceased by: his mother Rachael Barhydt (Spear); his grandmother Vicki Spear; and his pet Roxy. He is survived by: his father Brian Buchtel of Kendallville; his pets, Cardi B, Miss Kitty and Smokey; his siblings, Cody Barhydt of Ligonier, Aaliyah Barhydt of Garrett, Johnny Nicodemus of Cromwell, Shaun Jacobs Jr. of Churubusco, Destiny Hall of Mishawaka and Madison Mason of Oklahoma; his grandparents, Roberta, Rick Buchtel of Kendallville, Garry Spear of Wolcottville and Yvonne Lennon of Fort Wayne; and his aunts and uncles, Retta (Eric Langley), Samantha Knisely of Garrett, Ashley McCoy of Fort Wayne, Crystal Spear of Garrett, Garry Spear Jr. of Wolcottville, Mike Barrand of Fort Wayne, Brandon and Chandelle Buchtel of Avilla. He is also survived by Several cousins, other extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the family in care of the Feller and Clark Funeral Home to help with Richard's final expenses.
