He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marvin and Dorothy Edens (Norton); his brother Jimmy Edens; and his siblings-in-law, Jeanine Thieke and Jan Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Johnson of Galveston; his children, Kristi Hodupp (Rob) of Kokomo and Curtis Edens (Lindsay) of Galveston; his grandchildren, Jordan Hodupp (Lexi), Mackenzie Hodupp, Addy and Bailey Edens; his great grandchildren, Kade and Gage Hodupp; his siblings, Billy Edens (Lynda) of Alabama and Carolyn Jones of Florida; and his sister-in-law Jennette Edens.
