He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxine Burris and Clyde (Ellen Burris); and his brother Stephen Burris. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hays Burris; his children, George Phillip Burris and Pamela S Peters; his grandsons, George Raymond Peters (Krista) and Jeffrey Peters; his siblings-in-law, Larry and Bette Hays; and his nieces and nephews, Chris Burris (Sandy), Sarah Burris (Michael Meyer), Sean Burris (Jessica Diebold) and Belinda Paterno (Nick). He is also survived by six great nieces and nephews.
