He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Heckler and Mildred Heckler (Bearman); his sister Fay Driver; and his nephews, Chad Heckler and Brent LaVine.

He is survived by: his wife Connie Heckler of Snow Lake, Fremont; his children, Josie Klink (Nate) of Fort Wayne, Amber Heckler and Chris Heckler (Courtney); his granddaughters, Madison Heckler, Charli Klink and Kirra Heckler; his siblings, Kay Scheumann of Hoagland, Jane LaVine (Mike) of Fort Wayne and Duane Heckler of Springfield, Ohio; and his brother-in-law Chuck Driver of Hoagland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and three granddogs.
