He is survived by: his parent Reva Leland Smith of Fremont; his wife Carolyn Neutz Smith; his children, Cathy Rothrock (Tim) of Nashville, Indiana, Carl Smith (Chris) of Weed, California, Crystal Jones (John) of Clare, Michigan, Cheryl Delacruz (Max) of Pleasant Lake, Indiana and Chip (Hershel Smith Jr); his wife Josie of Quincy Michigan; his grandchild Pamela Ringler (Tony); his great grandchildren, Maya Oliver, Laine Jenkins, Maddison Oliver and Maleeha Oliver; and his sister Ina Mae Stroh of Ocala.

In lieu of flowers, prefer memorials be made to Fremont Community Church.
