He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Strayer and Howard Strayer; and his brother Russell. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Lee Strayer (Patty), Christopher Strayer (Sandy) and Pamela (Randy); his grandchildren, Tyler Strayer, Kaylee Strayer, Sebastian Strayer Harrison and Tori Strayer; and his sister Donna Tiplady.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Dan's memory to the American Cancer Society.
