He was predeceased by: his parents, George R. Covington and Dorothy Walton (Weaver); and his siblings, Rosalee Covington and Raymond Covington. He is survived by: his wife Flo Covington (Pettigrew) of Frankton, IN; his children, Diane Fithian of Elwood, IN, Paula Walker (Tolliver) of Anderson, IN, George Covington (Paula) of Frankton, IN and Eugene Covington of Anderson, IN; his grandchildren, Larry Brook, James Fithian, Bobbie Stanley, Crissy Short (Tony), Evan Covington and Justin Finton; his sister Ivonne Covington of Clay City, IN; and his half-sister Jane Douglas of Chesterfield, IN. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Frankton Ambulance Service.
