He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Martin and Grace Martin; his sister Ellen; his stepson John Staley; his stepgrandson Roy Smith; and his former wives, Jean Martin and Virginia Morrical.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Tanksley of Franklin, IN; his stepchildren, Kathye Reily (Rich) of Fernandina Beach, Leslye Arnold (Wayne) of Washington, CH and Norman Staley (Marsha) of Frisco; and his daughter-in-law Beverly Staley. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Family Room at Otterbein Franklin Seniorlife Community Tuesday (1070 W Jefferson St, Franklin, IN 46131).
He felt his greatest contribution to society was working as President or chairing in United Way campaigns for 42 years.
