He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Scott and Edith Scott (Blankenship); his wives, Catherine Scott (Starling) and Shirley Scott (Hardin); and his siblings, James Nelson and Francis Connor.

He is survived by: his children, William Scott (Marcia), Rhonda Wright (Jim), Jo Truby (Sam), Melanie Mitchell (Mike) and Tery Rexroat (Mitch); and his sister Janet McKinney (Jerry). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
