He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Mathena and Helen Mathena. He is survived by: his wife Monica Pennington; his children, Kevin Mathena of Indianapolis, Joe Mathena of Franklin and Rachel Mathena (Jamie) of Franklin; his daughter-in-law Lynn Mathena (Monty); his granddaughters, Katie Mathena (Justin Baker), Sarah Mathena (Matt Kelsay), Jenny Mathena (Aaron Archer), Keegan Turner and Kennedy Turner; his brothers, John Mathena (Jane), Tom and Jim Mathena; and his sisters-in-law, Rosanna Mathena and MaryLue Mathena-Walker. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home (2898 N Morton St, Franklin, IN 46131). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
