With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Phyllis J. Bates of Frankfort, Indiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon M. Cohee and Elsie Cohee (Dellinger); her husband John C. Bates; her brothers, Harold Cohee and William Cohee; her stepbrother Norman Fudge; her half-brother Richard Cohee; and also Richard Bates.
She is survived by: her daughter Shellie Dexter (Mark) of Lafayette; and her grandchildren, Kimberley J. Bates of Frankfort, Richard Calvin Bates of Brookston, Aimee N. Dexter of Lafayette, Abby Lynn Dexter of Salem, Miranda Miller of Frankfort and Damon Dexter of Arizona. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wesley Manor Amanda Reid Memorial Chapel (1555 N Main St, Frankfort, IN 46041). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM and at 2:15 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to the O.E.S. Clinton Chapter 6.
